A letter to Harper’s by Jendi Reiter critiques an article by Laura Kipnis, “Lust and Disgust: A short history of prudery, feminist and otherwise”. Kipnis slags Andrea Dworkin’s bleak view of sex without grappling with Dworkin’s horrific experiences of sexual violence. Intimacy entails vulnerability, and with it comes the potential for abuse.
